Excellent quality for what we've used it for thus far. Maybe when weather clears we shall know for heavier stuff.:)

Purchased this winch to help load logs onto a trailer for firewood collection. It has worked very well for doing what I intended to use it for and has not failed me yet. I'm pulling 45-50' logs with an 14" diameter out of log piles without a problem. It seems very powerful and is a real back and time saver since I no longer have to cut the logs into manageable sizes.Drawbacks -1. The control cable is only about 10' long. So while I can do things by myself I can't get to the back of the 16' trailer and still have control over the winch while loading.2. the cable is starting to fray at points - most likely because I've tried pulling far more than the winch is rated at but something to consider. I think the cable should have been up-sized a little but again it's probably from me overloading it3. Cable length - again i'm working with a 16' trailer - the 35' of cable they include does give me some extra length to get into the wood pile and beyond...

A great buy. It works exactly as it is advertised, As a utility winch, no more no less. The parts that make it up are metal and has great gears. I was more than satisfied.

This thing is an absolute BEAST. Got this to replace my chinese winch on my front bumper. The winch is sealed so as to be able to stay completely submerged in water without any harm, which was one of the many reason why I got it.Solid state relayWater ProofStyle12,000lbsMade in the USA!At last I have a winch I don't have to peel the stickers off of out of shame!Installation was managable. I had a previous setup for a Warn M8000 that I gave to a friend, and I replaced it with a cheap chinese winch. I had to butcher the carriage to get the chinese winch to fit... drilled new holes, and had to weld the fairlead to the mount. The holes in the cable leads were too small for my terminal and ground, so I had to drill them out just a bit.The Zeon 12, miraculously, was not too long for my mount, but it was slightly too wide. Ended up being able to chop up the back to make it fit without sacrificing...

Bought this to replace a worn out 3000K Superwinch. This winch pulls almost twice as fast, draws less on the charging system, and has two remotes. I love using the handlebar remotes while plowing snow, but when you're stuck in the mud, sometimes it's nicer to have the corded and be a safe distance off the seat in case of a line snap.It has worked flawlessly...I highly recommend this winch!

I bought this in October 2012 and I have had it on my 2003 Land Rover Discovery 2 (ARB Bumper) since, and it never let me down in the field, however after just 18 months it seems that it is starting to have problems due to the abuse it has seen. It will free spool out and will pull back in but will not power out, which isn't a problem, but the gear lever likes to get stuck in the engaged position. If you mount this winch to forward mount style bumper (most ARB bumpers are, if I'm not mistaken) you will either have to clock the winch so that the gear lever more accessible, which isn't too bad, but the motor drum will also require clocking to move the drain hole from the 3 o'clock back to the 6 o'clock position to make sure it does not fill up with water. The winch rope is of medium quality. It has rusted more than some other ropes that I've used, but for an entry level winch, its not so bad. However I'd get the VR10000-S with the synthetic line. While there is...

After having been stuck one too many times, I thought long and hard about getting a winch. I kept researching and researching. The 9.5XP always seemed to be hailed as the number one. This lead me to pull the trigger, and I haven't looked back since. The first day of use, the winch underwent 3 major pulls (probably a bit more than 9500 lbs worth each time) and functioned flawlessly. I have confidence that this winch will get me anywhere and everywhere that I could ever need to go in my Tacoma.

Great product. Installation instructions are a little overwhelming at first, not always as clear as I would like. I did the installation in an afternoon.

This winch can pull my truck with a 16000 lb trailer out of the snow or mud. Have owned it for 3 years and it has never failed me.

Got it installed at a dealer (you need a separate mounting plate, nowhere does it say on the website), we went out in the sands recently and got a chance to pull out so many SUV's.Good part is that it worked flawlessly,Bad part that we became a recovery vehicle instead of enjoying the outdoors.

Great winch. One word of warning if you are buying for a UTV: I ordered this for a 2013 John Deere Gator 825i. J-D offers a 3000 lb. winch kit made by Warn, but they charge about $850 for this kit (uninstalled). I was told that the mounting for UTV winches is fairly standard, so I orderd this one. On arrival, it became apparent that this winch will not mount directly to the Gator......you have to use a mounting plate available only from J-D (of course). The mounting plate with spacers and hardware was another $160 from the J-D dealer. It was a pain in the behind, but it's a great setup once I had everything needed to mount it up. Still spent way less than buying the J-D kit, which was a 3000# Warn winch anyway.

I have had several winches and off road vehicles over many years and this is by far the most powerful winch made for private use. Can't imagine ever needing more power.

This winch came on a '97 TJ I bought last summer. Very trustworthy name and winch. My only issue is the line speed, it's way too fast and after letting off of the switch oon light pulls it still spools a little bit. But, not enough to cause any issues. If your respooling line to get the cable even on the drum; you just got to get to know the winch, because it will spool a lot if no load is on it. Winch time for 136 amp alt pulling TJ from a mud hole was about 15 seconds on 30 seconds off. Drum did not feel too hot during load and unloaded pulls.

I watched this for a while and got it for $619. I could not pass it up. Works great. I have pulled my jeep out of 3 bad situations withing a month. My buddy also appreciates it as I had to hook to him 3 times to keep him from sliding into a deep ravine. The rope is light and less dangerous than the cable.I did not know to put resistance on the rope when winding it initially. It will suck itself inside of itself on the spool if you do not. I had to unwind all the rope, tie to a tree, set resistance on the parking brake and then spool the rope up.Mounting on my s***tybilt bumper was easy. (put fairlead on first)Was tricking figuring out how I wanted the control box mounted on the winch. I have it centered over the spool as it worked out better.

This has been worth the money thus far. It is fast, powerful and looks very nice as opposed to other winches which have solenoids and other bits seemingly glommed on to the winch. This unit is one complete, sealed piece and is much lighter than other winches in it's class (mostly due to the synthetic line). Includes everything required for a basic install unless you want to do what I did which is install the Warn quick-connect so you can easily unplug the winch and plug in jumper cables. Ordered Monday and installed Thursday night- very quick shipping between East Coast and Rocky Mountains, thanks Prime.

With proper tools and lifting equipment I was able to install this winch using a Warn hidden carrier by myself in a weekend. I probably could have done it in a single day if I'd had an extra pair of hands. I pre-stressed (i.e. streteched, per instructions) the wire cable prior to first use and during this effort I got my first taste of how fast this winch's line speed is. I'm very impressed. The winch's construction feels bulletproof. Fit and finish is fantastic. And it's Warn -- known for durability and dependability. I was on the fence about buying a Warn as the cost is way, way up there compared to competition. However, seeing what I now own first-hand compared to lesser-quality winches my buddies have ... I'm pleased with this purchase and feel I'll have years of reliable service to come.

I pulled a very stuck Tahoe out of a huge drainage ditch this past weekend and had no problems. The winch pulled it right out. Great product for the money

I use this winch for my full-size Bronco and I have family with the same one on their Bronco. This winch is outstanding both in terms of build quality and brute strength. Don't settle for the 8000-lb model if you have a truck or SUV, get one of these and never look back in regret. You need a lot more pulling power than the weight of your truck once you get stuck, and if you have a 6,000-lb truck and an 8,000-lb winch, you could still be in trouble. When that happens, you'll wish you'd stepped up to the 12,000-lb model for the extra pulling power. Besides that, having extra power and stronger internals means less wear and tear so this winch is going to last you a lot longer than lower rated (8,000-lbs) models. If you can pony up the extra money and you have the room, definitely opt for one of these. I have never had a problem with mine and I don't know a single person with a full-size or SUV that has regretted buying this winch. They are an awesome, extremely well-built...
