If you carefully read the instructions on installation, installing this part is a breeze. Product is equivalent to an OEM so I recommend purchasing this one if need be.

I purchased this part to replace the failing OEM transfer case encoder motor on my 2005 Trailblazer. The OEM transfer case motor would successfully shift into 2HI and A4WD, but would not engage when 4HI or 4LO was selected. The replacement only took about 20-30 minutes using a 13mm socket and extension. I used a jack and couple of jack stands to raise the TB for easy access to the transfer case motor location, but a couple of ramps would work just as well. It's probably one of the easiest do-it-yourself projects I've done on my Trailblazer since it's a direct replacement bolt-on part and is easily accessible underneath the vehicle. The Dorman transfer case motor feels very solid and well-built and I have no doubt that it will at least meet, if not exceed, the OEM part it replaced.NOTE: Make sure to check the number of pins on your transfer case motor electrical plug prior to ordering. GM used 5-pin and 7-pin versions on these vehicles and the easiest...

Fitted it to a Lincoln Navigator 1998. Works perfectly and I am very happyJust grease the drive with Lithium grease, insure engaging properly and you have 3 bolts to tighten. Make sure you watch the A1 You-tube "How to" specifically in transferring the extra wires . Some people are a bit lazy and they cut the connectors then re- connect the new motor to the old receptacle using soldering and tape. If you write down the colors and sketch the diagram, you will see that it is very easy and takes about one hour to install. However, I advise my colleagues to connect the harness of the new motor after transferring the wires and get a helper to turn ignition on (Do not start) and move the 4X4 selector switch and watch the drive turn. Return to 2WD and install.Product is great and you can spray the steel black cover with clear paint for rust protection.

nothing like replacing your 4wd transfer case encoder motor during the wintertime (when you need 4wd the most...). motor location was accessible without jacking up the vehicle (envoy) and installation was simple. in my case, the splined shaft lined up fine with the part out of the box. however, i've read that other users have needed to turn the transfer case shaft with a vise grips in order to align it with the motor shaft. it probably depends on what position your original motor failed in (stopped orientation).

My Ford Bronco II was not engaging into four wheel drive properly and after diagnosing the shift motor as the cause..I ordered Dorman 600-800 from AutoPartsWAY at a fraction of the cost of the dealership or secondary parts shops. Works great. If you need parts for your ride check AutoPartsWAY first and compare the price difference. Thanks AutoPartsWAY. Jamie

I purchased this instead of the expensive replacement from FORD. It worked like a charm, easy to replace, just follow the enclosed instructions to remove the harness without damaging it.

I bought this because it was cheaper than the other transfer case motors that I found. My other one was locking into 4 wheel drive when it wasn't supposed to. It was slightly more labor intensive than what I first thought because 7 or 8 pins had to be transferred to the new motor. Once it was in thought my 99 Expedition drove like a different vehicle. I haven't put many miles on it yet, but no more binding on turns on drive pavement definite bonus.

Replaced this motor on my 1991 Mazda Navajo. After troubleshooting the 4WD system I determined that this was the culprit. Reasonable price and perfect fit. Installed very easily and after that the 4WD worked fine. Good quality!
