  • but it’s not perfect.----The 2018+ Jeep Wrangler JL has one of the most cramped cooling stacks we’ve seen in a modern vehicle, especially in the 2.0L spec with the additional heat exchanger for the turbo system. That cramped cooling stack means the JL needs an efficient radiator, and the stock radiator often falls short. Luckily, Mishimoto has developed a performance radiator that makes the most of the cramped space in the front of the JL.----This Mishimoto performance radiator for the 2018+ Jeep Wrangler JL is designed to make the most of every inch of the Wrangler’s cooling stack while withstanding the rigors of off-road (and everyday) life. Our radiator features an oversized core that’s 51 percent larger than stock, with a 38 percent greater coolant capacity to effectively cool your engine, even at low speeds. The 37 percent increase in fin surface area and oversized single-row design means that every square inch of core is used to transfer heat away from your engine.----Wranglers are known for their durability and our radiator is built to match. The full-aluminum, TIG-welded end tanks are designed to withstand vibration and repeated heat cycles without cracking or leaking. To add even more durability, we've constructed the core with extruded and strutted tubes that resist chassis flex on the trail.   • The 2-Row 42mm aluminum core not only increases the fluid capacity of the radiator, but also improves the cores ability to dissipate heat. CSF's Exclusive B-Tube Technology increases the heat transfer by approximately 15% over regular oval welded tubes. In addition, the super-efficient multi-louvered fins maximize airflow through the core for the best possible performance. End tanks are made from high grade aluminum and TIG welded to the core for extra strength. In contrast, the OEM crimped onto plastic end tank design is much weaker and creates a weak point where failure is more likely. Because the CSF radiator is designed as a true plug-and-play drop-in fit application, installation requires absolutely no modifications, trimming, or cutting. CSF even includes pre-cut double sided adhesive foam strips to help seal the fan shroud against the radiator. This improves airflow efficiency off the fan. Additionally, the radiator features a built-in transmission oil cooler. The transmission cooler is a heavy-duty high-performance 5 plate design that connects to the OEM hoses. The upgraded built in cooler is great dealing with the added heat and stress from towing, low gear crawling, and vehicles equipped with oversized tires. While many understand the impacts of oversized tires, it is always good to provide extra incite. By increasing the diameter of your tires, you are reducing the effective gear ratio. This means the engine and transmission have to work harder to move the tires. Obviously this will end up generating excess heat, but the CSF radiator is designed to handle it.

Efficiency is key in off-roading as speeds tend to be lower overall so you end up relying on the fans to move most of the air over the radiator. While the factory fans do a decent job pulling air through the radiator core, it is still less airflow than you'd typically see in city driving. A larger and more efficient core will keep your engine temps in check and keep your engine running strong. Also, a larger core also helps when your radiator is covered in dust, dirt, or mud. While a radiator isn't functioning at peak efficiency in there situations, the more overall cooling capacity you have the better. This radiator features a 2-Row core with CSF's exclusive B-Tube Technology: Unlike a regular oval shape "O" type radiator tube, CSF uses a specially engineered tube in the shape of a "B". These "B-tubes" are carefully formed and then brazed over the seam to seal. CSF is able to use thinner and lighter aluminum material (with better cooling efficiency) because this design is actually stronger than normal "O" shape tubes that are welded. The design (inlet in the middle of the tube that is seam brazed) increases the heat transfer surface area of the tubes by approximately 15% over regular tubes - producing the efficiency of two smaller tubes vs. one large tube within the same space criteria. With "B-tubes" you are able to get "dual liquid laminar flow". CSF also uses ultra efficient multi louvered fins that are carefully and precisely aligned to maximize airflow through each radiator core. Fin specifications are carefully measured and calculated for each application, and tested for maximum heat rejection efficiency in our wind-tunnel lab.The CSF 2nd/3rd Gen Tacoma radiator is a true "Drop-in fit" design requiring no modifications to install.
