Just like the original, says made in Germany on switch.Just unplug old and plug in the new switch.You can tell its a goner when the chrome top starts breaking and the rocker gets loose.Don't try and use the old switch if its coming apart if you can help it.I wanted my window in the up position till I got my replacementA few sparks flew out of old switch and blew a fuse in the panel when I raised the window with the faulty switch.Window is working again with new switch and fuse.

Cheapest on the net. Works and looks just like the original.

One really nice thing about the VW beetle, it's made so parts like this can easily snap out. This was an easy fix. I watched the video on you tube, then ordered the part. I received the part four days later. Total time to replace the part was about 10 minutes. No special tools are needed. I used a screwdriver to pry the faceplate off the interior door. Everything else was snap out, snap in. Works just fine. And I saved some money as the dealer wanted $200 to fix it. If I had ordered the part from the dealer I would have paid twice the price I paid the AutoPartsWAY seller. If I can do it anybody can.

This was an exact replacement for the factory switch, worked perfectly and was easy to replace without taking the door panel off. Arrived quickly and was exactly as described by supplier. I would definitely recommend this replacement switch.
