1996 Ford Explorer Engine Oil Drain Plug 8 Cyl 5.0L MTC

Perfect fit on my 1999 BMW 323is. I'm happy with my purchased. Magnetic plug? Excellent idea to be able to check the metal residue on my next oil change.

This works. It really does. I have a higher-mileage 3 series BMW, and during the last oil change (after initial installation), the magnet had a fine metal "paste" stuck to it. Clearly it's doing the job it was meant to do. For less than $7, can't go wrong.

I bought my first magnetic oil drain plug by accident at a local parts store. I needed a new drain plug because the old one was stripped by the previous owner. I just grabbed the first oil plug that fit my requirements without noticing it had the magnetic end.When I changed my oil the next time, I noticed all kinds of metal flakes attached to the end. I then realized that it was magnetic and it really worked. I bought one intentionally for my other vehicle, and again, after the first oil change there was a BB sized metal ball stuck to the magnetic. After your first oil change, there will likely be less flakes/metal attached to the magnet, but there will still be a fine metallic sludge that sticks to the magnet (which is difficult to wipe off because the magnet is so strong).Very happy with this product, especially considering the price. All my vehicles have one of these installed.
