Repair for 2003 Silverado extended cab 1500.This was very to install..The price is reasonable. I only needed the cable and reused my existing brake lever hardware.

Ok,I hate that AutoPartsWAY doesn't list country of origins. For you guys wondering, it is made in China, like most of Dormans products. This product is a decent replacement for the OEM handle that likes to snap at the end of the cable. The Dorman product is almost identical to the original, even the markings on the rear of the handle. However, if this bothers you, it is very simple to remove the cable from the new one and clip it on the old handle mechanism by depressing the two tabs at the handle end of the cable clip. That is if your handle itself did not break. The other difference I noticed was the handle is a bit more curved than the original, has more of a hook feel to it.The graphic is poorly painted, but this does not effect performance of the product. The metal of the...

This is the second brake release I've purchased for my 2003 Tahoe. This first time the cable broke up near the handle. The second time the cable broke near the brake mechanism. The first time I used a GM part purchased from the dealer for almost $40. When it broke no more than 2 years later I decided to give the aftermarket a try. This is not an OEM part. Although it does seem to be better built. The image on this handle is slightly different but what does that matter. There was a single 10mm bolt holding it in place and took me less than 5 minutes to replace. This is well worth the money.
